The first phrase of JHONG Jiang-Ze’s exhibition, Theatre of the Absurd, has ended in September 13th and been received tremendous attentions and supports from media and collectors. Most works on view went to private collection. Following the first phrase is a semi-project show entitled Wall of Muses, Studio on the Scene, starting from September 20.  In the second phrase of presentation, we build up a wall of muses with the artist, a wall illustrates the artist’s muses that on the other side is absurdity. Two-stage arrangement aims to disclose and fulfill the core concept of the exhibition, “Absurdity is muse; muse is absurd“.

Wall of Muses, Studio on the Scene transforms the gallery space into a live studio along with some new works of the artist displayed. Creating is a jumping line but exhibition is a finished product. Tracks of inspirations and muses sometimes stay on the studio wall or came from any object within. Likewise, every piece of work interacts with each other and keeps developing on that base. JHONG will work after gallery hours and be absent when the exhibition is opened to the public. What viewers can see are traces and marks muses (or the artist) left behind. Muse is intangible but her paces on the artist’s mind imprint physically on the artist’s work in progress. The whole exhibition seemingly works as a dynamic project and records the organic procedure of artist’s production We expect to generate additional value onto visual experience by means of displaying a scene consists of a time stream rather than a single point. Wall of Muses, Studio on the Scene allows the artist to transplant creating situation to gallery space. Meanwhile, it aligns the creator and viewers to the same time base as a result. A wrap-up presentation will be hold on October 4th and uncertain number of finished works will be released.
